Based in Los Angeles, cinematographer Eve M Cohen draws upon her background in fine art painting and photography to influence and inspire her filmmaking. Her visual aesthetic is fueled by collaboration, empathy and intention. Eve is a visual storyteller who has travelled the globe for many of her documentary and commercial projects.
Eve is quick to welcome innovations in technology and filmmaking, and established herself as a pioneer in Cinematic Virtual Reality with THE VISITOR (AFI 2016, SFiFF 2016) and HARD WORLD FOR SMALL THINGS (Sundance 2016, Tribeca 2016). Her position as an innovator in this new frontier led her to ASHE ‘68 (Sundance 2019, Tribeca 2019) which was nominated for a Sports Emmy in 2019 and for which she received many accolades. You can read about the technological achievement of ASHE ’68 in American Cinematographer Magazine, May 2019. But above all, what Eve really loves is storytelling; collaborating on projects that blur the line between the real and surreal, grounded in emotion. I DREAM YOU DREAM OF ME (Director Jennifer Reeder) premiered at MOMA and is now available to watch on the Criterion Channel. Eve has recently completed two feature films to be released later this year: a drama starring Sinqua Walls and Brian Cox, MENDING THE LINE (Director Joshua Caldwell) and a comedy starring Josephine Langford with Andie MacDowell and Heather Graham, THE OTHER ZOEY (Director Sara Zandieh).
