BIRGIT GUDJONSDOTTIR

The cinematographer Birgit Gudjonsdottir has been filming commercials, documentaries, and fiction films since the late 1980s. She has worked on international productions such as “Goodbye Lenin,” “The Bourne Supremacy,” “Aeon Flux,” “Beyond the Sea,” and “The Three Musketeers.” The first feature film she shot, “Jargo,” premiered at the Berlinale in 2004. Birgit has also been a lecturer at Germany’s most prestigious film schools. She has received numerous awards, including Best Director of Photography for “Our Grand Despair” in 2011, the Cinematography Award from the Women’s International Film and Television Showcase (WIFTS) in 2013, the Honorary Award ‘Starker Einsatz’ at the German Actor Awards in 2013, and the Honorary Award from the German Cinematography Award in 2018.
